Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. Extract Text runs entirely in your browser using PDF.js. Your PDF is parsed locally, so it never leaves your device.
Why is little or no text extracted?
Extract Text reads the selectable text layer embedded in the PDF. Scanned documents that are just images contain no text layer — use the OCR PDF tool to recognize text from those instead.
Can I copy the text instead of downloading a file?
Yes. Alongside the .txt download there is a Copy button that copies the entire extracted text to your clipboard.
